I dreamed I was working at a restaurant. This is a major recurring dream for me the past few years. In this dream, I was waiting tables and didn’t know the table numbers. In the past dreams, I was always so ashamed to ask, because I should have known them. But in this dream, I faced that fear and simply asked. I got the correct numbers and felt relieved, because now I could enter the food in the micro correctly so it could get to the correct tables. Restaurants often give 3-4 table sections to servers, with only way more expereinced ones getting extra tables. Well, I was given an entire section, like 10 tables. I was thinking but it’s been years since I waited table, how can they expect me to do this. Then I was like, ok, I can do it. I’ll just try to remember what I used to do and take it a step at a time. Then, I got to the micros to log in the food orders and realized I still didn’t have my login number. (This happens in the recurring dreams.) If I don’t have the login number, I can’t log anyone’s food. I couldn’t find anyone to help me get it, like either they didn’t know and were helpful. Finally, I just quit. In all my dreams, this is the first time I’ve ever done this. I just quit. I said without what I need I can’t do this. At first, I was so scared. What would I do? This is a horrible decision I thought. BUT then, I felt tremendous relief. And I knew I’d be ok. It’s like I knew I didn’t need to be there. I didn’t need to do this to myself. Or something like that. I wonder what the table numbers and my micro login could mean. And I wonder why I’m always so overwhelmed with so many guests.
